    Reed just brings such a wonderful spice and energy to the show.

    I also loved how the show wasn’t totally focused on SL.

    Kim, if you could put a link up to a uncensored version with no bleeps I would listen to the whole thing over again. :D

    I actually know someone who works for EA. I will have to ask her for the inside scoop on SimCity stuff. I will even offer to send her a link to the podcast if she like to hear some honest feedback.

    I know everyone wants materials in SL like now but I was wondering what kind of lag could these new materials can cause? You basically upload them as texture files. So now each mesh item can have 3 more texture files associated with them. You know content creators are going to go nuts and use 1024 by 1024 files. Won’t that just add to the horrible lag issue SL already faces? Love to hear Karl’s take on this. I don’t know maybe I am way off.

    I have watched a few episodes and interviews about the MTV Catfish show. I thought they were done quite nicely and the host really seemed to want to help both parties involved heal and have a good outcome. It is in no way exploitative the same way that sleazy late night show “Cheaters” is. I can’t stand that show and I think is probably totally fake.

    Drax I really think you have hit your stride with “World Makers” series!!! I have watched both and they are AWESOME!!! I think this type of machinima is your calling. I think you make a wonderful real life documentary film maker. Keep it up!
    I can’t wait for the next episode!!! :D

    OK just got done playing with the new alpha release viewer for the new materials system. First problem when I applied a normal map to a single face almost all the other faces in the mesh or regular prim also got the same normal map applied to it. I was able to put on other normal maps on those faces. Minor glitch but still a pain in the butt.

    What concerns me most is now any regular prim or mesh will have or could have 3 texture files associated per face. So instead of 8 textures being the max number now it will be 24 textures files per mesh objects and regular prims.

    I don’t know but I sure hope if you have materials turned off in your graphics preference settings that the servers don’t send you those extra 16 texture files to your viewer anyway.

    Even if it doesn’t, won’t any avatar who has their’s turned on to see the new maps be taking up the way more servers resources by needing 3 times the amount of texture files sent to their viewers? Won’t that cause lag to even those avatars that don’t have materials turned on?

    Basically a 1024 by 1024 texture is max about 3 Mb. So 8 would be 24 Mb max. With the new materials they be 24 textures times 3 Mb or 72 Mb per object. If LL is willing to increase the server load that much I rather not have Materials but give me a higher land impact limit for my land.

    I could be completely wrong and if I am Karl could you explain why?
